Dr. Scott J. Cotler is a professor in the Department of Medicine, Stritch School of Medicine–Loyola University Chicago, and the Division Director of Hepatology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Chicago. Dr. Cotler completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and a fellowship in transplant hepatology at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Cotler divides his time between a busy clinical practice and clinical and translational research. His research focuses on viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. He has published numerous original articles and reviews and has lectured widely on topics related to liver disease.
