Dr. Bowie completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and her surgical retina fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2004. Prior to joining Penn State, Dr. Bowie served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at MUSC for 5 years and joined Penn State Health in 2010. Dr. Bowie has special expertise in the medical and surgical care of patients with retinal disorders. She also has a special interest in uveitis. In addition, she teaches medical students, residents, and is involved in clinical research.
