Dr. Baggish is the Associate Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Performance Program, a clinical and research program designed to address needs of athletes and active individuals. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a staff cardiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital. His research focuses on cardiovascular disease and myocardial function in athletes and active individuals. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has research funding support from the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health. He serves as the medical director for the Boston Athletic Association’s Boston Marathon and a cardiology consultant for the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and numerous university athletic programs. He is a steering committee member for the American College of Cardiology’s Sports Cardiology Council and a guideline writing committee member of the American Heart Association’s 36th Bethesda Conference focused on athletic eligibility for individuals with cardiovascular disease.
