John M. Miller, MD is Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine as well as Director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and the Cardiac Electrophysiology Training Program at Indiana University. Prior to this, he was Associate Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he completed his cardiovascular and electrophysiology fellowships. He has undergraduate and medical degrees from Pennsylvania State University. Following medical school graduation, Dr. Miller took an Internal Medicine residency at University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill before taking his cardiology and electrophysiology training. He has authored over 200 manuscripts, abstracts and chapters and has active research interests in diagnosis and treatment of all types of cardiac arrhythmias. Current responsibilities include patient care, administration, training of young electrophysiologists and clinical research. Development of new diagnostic techniques and catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias are particular interests. He has been principal investigator or co-investigator on several important clinical trials and is on the editorial board of several major journals. Dr. Miller is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has served on the ABIM’s certification examination writing committee and was its chairman for 4 years, and now serves on the ABIM’s Self Examination Process in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has been awarded the Indiana University Trustee Teaching Award twice as well as the Heart Rhythm Society’s Distinguished Teacher Award.
