Dr. Rebecca Burke is an Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and serves as the Lead Ambulatory Physician for the Palliative Medicine Department at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Burke is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and is board eligible for Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and her Doctorate of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Her professional interests include the scholarly advancement of Hospice and Palliative medicine and increasing diversity in academic medicine.
