    I would like to keep the patient on Regular insulin infusion to control her blood glucose & reduce glucose toxicity rapidly & for correctly estimating her 24 hours insulin requirement. Once her blood glucose is under reasonable control, then fixed dose basal & bolus insulins can be commenced.
