Regional Fat With Normal BMI Affects CVD Risk After Menopause

Higher percent trunk fat and lower percent leg fat linked to increased risk of cardiovascular disease

For postmenopausal women with normal body mass index, higher percent trunk fat is associated with elevated cardiovascular disease risk (CVD), while higher percent leg fat is associated with lower CVD risk, according to a study published online June 30 in the European Heart Journal.
