Dr. Yu Mi Kang is a physician scientist with a clinical and research background in South Korea and the United States. With a main research focus on the cardiovascular complications of diabetes and obesity, she led numerous national-level cardiovascular outcome and mortality studies among people with various cardiometabolic profiles to build a reliable risk stratification model in various ethnic groups. Dr. Kang is deeply interested in the cardiovascular effects of the emerging therapies for diabetes and obesity. She will be joining the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital; Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, for a clinical and research fellowship starting July 2022.
