Oncology Fellow. Department of Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York

Yannis Valtis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, and moved to the United States to attend Harvard College. There, he studied Human Regenerative and Developmental Biology and graduated summa cum laude with a minor in Statistics. He then worked for 2 years for the Boston Consulting Group focusing on global health before moving back to Boston to attend Harvard Medical School. After graduating cum laude, he began his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. During residency, he developed an interest in hematologic malignancies and in caring for young adults with cancer. He served a Chief Fellow at the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His research focuses on acute lymphoblastic leukemia, cellular therapy, and adolescent and young adult oncology.
