He grew up in eastern Canada and attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Calgary, where he served as the Chief Fellow. He enjoys hiking, learning languages, and making gastroenterology-related puns - especially the offal ones.
