William Tremaine MD is the Maxine and Jack Zarrow Professor of Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.  His special interests are the natural history and complications of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and ethical issues regarding research and clinical care of IBD patients. He is currently an Associate Editor of the journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
