Will Takakura MD

Will Takakura graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School then completed his internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is currently a third-year gastroenterology fellow at the University of Michigan. His research interests include gastric cancer and the disorders of the gut-brain interaction (DGBI). He works in tandem with endoscopists in Japan to improve gastric cancer detection and outcomes in the US. He is also seeking to understand the relationship between the microbiome and irritable bowel syndrome in the hopes of predicting outcomes and response to therapy. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife.
