Chair, Department of Anesthesiology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Professor of Anesthesiology, Surgery and Biomedical Informatics, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TNWarren Sandberg is Professor of Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology, and his M.D. from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He was a resident/fellow in the Department of Anesthesia/Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Sandberg served on the Harvard faculty from 1998 until 2010, when he became Chair at Vanderbilt. At Vanderbilt, Dr. Sandberg's interests include: factors affecting physician-patient communication, patient care technology, perioperative systems design and OR workflow management, fiscal control, optimizing the value delivered in anesthesiology, and novel arenas where anesthesiologists can compete.
