Dr. Tantry has 25 years of research experience in basic science, clinical chemistry, cancer, wound healing, and antithrombotic therapy. For the past 15 years, his research has been focused on basic mechanisms of platelet activation, receptor signaling, coagulation, and biomarkers. His team has been actively involved in studying the pharmacodynamic effect of antithrombotic agents, translational medicine and drug development. Other research goals include studying the influence of single nucleotide polymorphisms on antiplatelet effects of clopidogrel and personalized antiplatelet therapy based on genotyping and platelet function measurements. His research is also focused on novel antithrombotic therapies including PAR-1 inhibitors, P2Y12 inhibitors, and PCSK9 antibodies. 

Dr. Tantry serves as a reviewer for several journals including JAMA, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Platelets, and American Journal of Cardiology. In addition to numerous book chapters and monographs, he has authored over 230 articles in peer-reviewed journals including JAMA, Circulation, Lancet, Nature-Cardiovascular Medicine, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Diabetes, the American Journal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Platelets, and the Journal of Interventional Cardiology.
