Dr. Taner is a Professor of Surgery and Consultant in Immunology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He is the Chair of the Division of Transplantation Surgery, and the surgical director of liver transplantation of both the adult and pediatric programs at the same institution. His clinical practice involves liver transplantation, living donor hepatectomies and nephrectomies. His research focuses on liver transplant immunobiology, investigating the interaction between the liver allografts and the host immune responses.
