Thomas Vanassche MD, PhD
Clinical Research Fellow, Population Health Research Institute, McMaster University, Hamilton, OntarioDr. Vanassche earned a medical degree from the University of Leuven in Belgium, and trained in internal medicine and cardiology at the University Hospital in Leuven. In parallel with his clinical cardiology fellowship, he completed a cardiovascular research fellowship at the Center for Molecular and Vascular Biology, department of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Leuven, focusing on the interactions between infection, inflammation and coagulation. During his doctoral research, which focused on in vitro and in vivo models of inflammation and coagulation, he was also involved in clinical trials in the field of thrombosis and vascular medicine. Currently, he is working as a clinical research fellow at the Population Health Research Institute, McMaster University, in Hamilton.
