Dr. Stiermaier received his medical degree from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and Showa University, School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He completed residency at Heart Center Leipzig – University Hospital, Germany, and University Heart Center Lübeck, Germany and is board certified for Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Dr. Stiermaier currently works as a consultant cardiologist at University Heart Center Lübeck, Germany. His clinical focus is on interventional cardiology and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.

Dr. Stiermaier published more than 75 peer-reviewed articles in international journals. His main research interests include Takotsubo syndrome, acute coronary syndrome, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
