Hubbard Chair of Cardiology and serves as a Professor of Medicine. Dr. Porter has research expertise in the fields of ultrasound enhancing agents, and their utilization for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. He has published data on numerous clinical trials exploring the incremental value of myocardial perfusion echocardiography over wall motion analysis alone in detecting coronary artery disease and predicting patient outcome. His research laboratory has pioneered the use of contrast ultrasound for sonothrombolysis, and he has been an investigator on recent clinical trials in Sao Paulo, Brazil that have been featured recently in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
