Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, UtahDr. Smith is a neurologist in Salt Lake City, Utah, affiliated with the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center and Neurology service at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is an assistant professor of neurology in the Division of Neuroimmunology and Autoimmune Neurology at the University of Utah School of Medicine as well as a clinical consultant at ARUP Laboratories. She completed her neurology residency at Rush University in Chicago, IL and fellowship training in autoimmune neurology at the University of Utah. Her research interests include understanding the mechanisms that drive the pathogenesis of immune-mediated neurologic diseases, with a special interest in paraneoplastic neurologic diseases that disproportionately affect aging populations. She is also passionate about improving diagnostic testing for antineural antibodies.
