Subha V. Raman MD
Professor and Joseph M. Ryan, MD Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OhioDr. Subha Raman obtained her bachelors and masters degrees at OSU in electrical engineering, with graduate work completed as a National Science Foundation Fellow. She then completed training in internal medicine and cardiology at OSU with additional training at Wake Forest University in cardiovascular magnetic resonance. She joined the faculty of the OSU College of Medicine in 2002, establishing the cardiovascular MR and CT programs as integrated clinical, research and teaching services.
In addition to her clinical work in both outpatient and inpatient cardiology, Dr. Raman has maintained an active research program dedicated to improving early detection and outcomes in heart and vascular disease, with original work in the areas of atherosclerosis, heritable heart disease, ischemia detection and prevention of myocardial injury. She established OSU’s Cardiovascular Diagnostics Training program in 2006, focused on aligning advances in imaging with bedside clinical care. She also serves the broader cardiovascular medicine and imaging communities through her administrative work with organizations such as the NIH, AHA, ACC, SCMR, and CCCVI.
