Cardiovascular Services, HCA Midwest Health Heart and Vascular Institute, Overland Park, KansasDr. Steven Marso is the Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas Texas, and an authority in diabetes and vascular disease. He has authored over 100 research articles, and also is the editor of, “Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease: Integrating Science and Clinical Medicine”. He is the Study Chairman of several diabetes and cardiovascular outcome trials.
He is a Diplomat to the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention.
Dr. Marso earned his MD at the University of Kansas, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia. After a Fellowship in Cardiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, he was Chief Cardiology Fellow from 1997 to 1999, followed by a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Mid America Heart Institute, Saint Luke’s Hospital until 2000.
