Stéphane Paul PhD
Professor/Practitioner (PUPH), Immunology and Vaccinology, Faculty of Medicine, University Hospital of Saint Etienne, Saint-Priest-en-Jarez, FranceStéphane Paul is a Professor / Practitioner (PUPH) in Immunology and Vaccinology at the Faculty of Medicine in Saint-Etienne (France) since 2008. He is the PI of the team 15 of the CIRI named Pathophysiology and biotherapies of mucosal infections (GIMAP) in Lyon. He’s also heading the Immunology department of the CHU Saint-Etienne with a strong expertise in the monitoring of biotherapies and which is accredited as a center of excellence for the TDM. Before joining the academy, he has worked for more than 12 years for Transgene (Strasbourg) as the head of the preclinical or immunology department and in charge of vaccine adjuvant platform. His research focuses on mucosal immunity against chronic inflammation (HIV and IBD), vaccine adjuvants and mucosal vaccination. He is a co-founder of the Clinical Investigation Center in vaccinology of Saint-Etienne and coordinates the new European Erasmus+ Master LIVE in vaccinology. From June 2020, he’s a member of the French COVID vaccine committee and he will join the Comité Technique de la Vaccination (CTV) at the HAS.
