Dr. Shinji Tanaka is President of JA Onomichi General Hospital and is the President of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society. He is a Professor Emeritus of Hiroshima University and presently serves there as a visiting professor of gastroenterology at the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Dr. Tanaka received his medical degree from Hiroshima University School of Medicine and underwent residency training at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo. An active participant in various professional organizations, he is a Fellow of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and is an international member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He serves as an editorial board member of several well-known medical journals.
Dr. Tanaka's clinical, education, and research focus centers around diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for colorectal neoplasia, as well as endoscopic and clinicopathological research in colorectal neoplasia.
