Dr. S. H. Subramony is currently a Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine and the McKnight Brain Institute. Prior to that he was the Billy Guyton Distinguished Professor of Neurology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Charlotte Warmoth Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is the Chief of the Neuromuscular Division at the University of Florida and co-directs the Ataxia Clinic in the Movement Disorder Center with Dr T.Ashizawa. His investigative interests have been in the field of ataxias; he participated in the identification of many gene defects in the ataxias, has been active in the clinical research network on ataxias and has published many papers and chapters in the field.
