Serge Resnikoff MD, PhD
Chair, Eye Health Committee, International Council of OphthalmologySerge Resnikoff, MD, PhD, is an international expert in global public health and ophthalmology. He is a visiting professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney and teaches in Geneva and Paris. He is also the Chair of the International Myopia Institute, the President and Chair of the Organisation for Prevention la Blindness (OPC) in France, the President of Thea Foundation, and the Chair of the International Coalition Against Trachoma.
His professional experience includes the World Health Organization, academia, and the private sector in various executive positions.
He has authored over 200 refereed publications and book chapters in the field of ophthalmology, epidemiology, and global public health.
In addition, Dr. Resnikoff is actively involved in a number of international bodies and foundations, such as the International Council of Ophthalmology, the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness, and the African Eye Foundation; he also serves on a number of scientific committees, including SightFirst, the Trachoma Expert Committee, the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, and Our Children’s Vision.
Dr. Resnikoff received training in Medicine (MD), Ophthalmology, Tropical Medicine, and Epidemiology (PhD).
