Seemant Chaturvedi MD

Professor of Clinical Neurology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, Florida

Dr. Seemant Chaturvedi is Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is also Vice-chair for VA Programs within the Department of Neurology. Dr. Chaturvedi completed his neurology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and a stroke fellowship at the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Chaturvedi has co-edited two books, Transient Ischemic Attacks in 2004 and Carotid Artery Stenosis in 2005. He has been involved with several guideline writing committees for the American Academy of Neurology and American Stroke Association and is on the steering committee of several clinical trials, including the NIH-sponsored CREST 2 trial. Dr. Chaturvedi currently serves as vice-chair of the AAN vascular neurology section. He is a member of the editorial boards of Neurology and Stroke.

Dr. Chaturvedi’s research interests include carotid and intracranial atherosclerosis, gender differences in stroke, and stroke in young adults.
