He is also an Assist Prof of Medicine at Johns Hopkins. He research focuses on the use of cell-free DNA and other genomic approaches in transplantation. He is the principal investigator of Genomic Transplant Dynamics, a natural history study of heart and lung transplant patients supported by the Genomic Research Alliance for Transplantation (GRAfT), a consortium of NHLBI and thoracic transplant centers, including Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland Medical Center, Inova Fairfax, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Medstar Washington Hospital Center. He is also lead investigator of COVID-19 Injury Map: a consortium of 7 US centers and 1 center in Africa to define the sources of tissue in COVID-19.
