Research Fellow, Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care, School of Health Sciences, The University of Manchester, Manchester, United KingdomUpon completing undergraduate studies in Pharmacy (University of Tripoli, Libya), Salwa Zghebi worked for 6 years as a Community Pharmacist and Teaching Assistant at Pharmacy School, University of Tripoli, Libya. She was then awarded a Libyan government scholarship for postgraduate studies in the UK, in which she completed a lab-based MPhil programme (University of Bradford) and a PhD in epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology of diabetes using large UK electronic health records (EHRs) at the University of Manchester, UK.
Dr. Zghebi has strong teaching activity on different modules at the UoM and University of Tripoli, currently co-supervises two PhD students (saw one to completion in 2021), is a postgraduate tutor and academic advisor, providing guidance and pastoral support to MPhil/PhD students, and a regular PhD examiner.
After completing her PhD, Dr. Zghebi worked as a Research Associate, then was awarded a 3-year Presidential Research Fellowship, and currently is a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester working on several funded projects, mainly on diabetes, cardiovascular disease and multimorbidity, using UK and US EHRs.
