Dr. Naylor’s clinical expertise and research interests are in genetic and atypical forms of diabetes. She is a co-Investigator of the University of Chicago Monogenic Diabetes Registry where her work has addressed barriers to accurate genetic diagnosis of MODY and inequities in who benefits from diabetes precision medicine. She has carried out cost-effectiveness analyses demonstrating the economic value of diabetes precision medicine for MODY. She is also a co-Investigator of the rare and atypical diabetes network, or RADIANT study, aiming to identify new causes of diabetes and better understand the pathoetiology of type 2 diabetes. She additionally contributes to gene and variant curation efforts for monogenic diabetes through ClinGen and has contributed to the Precision Medicine in Diabetes Initiative of the ADA and EASD.
