His clinical research interests include a focus on epidemiology, outcomes, and health services research in chronic liver disease, particularly viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. His work has also focused on understanding the mechanisms of disparities in healthcare access and healthcare outcomes, particularly among vulnerable and underserved ethnic minority populations with chronic liver diseases.
