Robert A. Faiella DMD, MMSc, MBA
Past President of the American Dental Association; Chief Dental Officer and Co-Founder, 32Health Inc., Boston, MassachusettsDr. Faiella is a Past President of the American Dental Association and currently serves as Director and President of the American Board of Periodontology, Vice President of the American College of Dentists, Chair of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine Board of Fellows, and appointed member to the MIT Sloan School of Management Alumni Board.
He is currently Chief Dental Officer and Co-Founder of 32Health, Inc., the Former Chief Dental Officer and current Advisor for Overjet. Inc., and currently is in private practice limited to Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery in Osterville and Duxbury, Massachusetts.
Dr. Faiella received his pre-doctoral education from Villanova University, earning two Bachelor of Science degrees, and his D.M.D degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dental Medicine. He received his graduate training in Periodontology as an NIH Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, as well as a Master of Medical Science (M.M.Sc.) degree from Harvard Medical School. During this time, he served five years as a Research Fellow with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He also received his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American Academy of Dental Science, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Dr. Faiella has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and has been invited to deliver the Commencement Address to eight Schools of Dental Medicine over the past 12 years.
He has served the profession on numerous councils and committees on the national, constituent, and component levels. He is also a Past-President of the Massachusetts Dental Society, and former ADA First District Trustee. He is the chair of the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Informatics Workgroup 13.8 on Artificial and Augmented Intelligence, and the Editor of the JADA+ website on AI Applications in Dentistry.
Dr. Faiella has also served as the Chairman and President of ADA Business Enterprises, Inc., the for-profit subsidiary of the American Dental Association.
