Richard K. Scher MD, FACP
Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Weill Cornell Medical College, Department of Dermatology, New York, New YorkDr. Scher is the former President and Vice-President, now Honorary Member American Academy of Dermatology. He is the former President of New York State Dermatology, Suffolk County Dermatology Society, and Council for Nail Disorders and a prior member, Board of Directors of Women’s Dermatology Society, Skin of Color Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Scher is Professor Emeritus of Dermatology, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University and is currently a Dermatology Professor at the Weill Cornell Medical College.
His awards include the Howard University College of Medicine Distinguished Alumnus Award 2000; Derm/Arts Award of Excellence in Advancing the Highest Principles of Dermatology, 2005; Howard University Alumni Achievement Award in Medicine and Education, 2004; Dermatology Foundation Lifetime Career Education Award, 2008, and the Brooklyn College Outstanding Alumnus Award 2010.
Dr, Scher is the former Editor-in Chief of Dialogues in Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology. He is an international authority on Diagnosis and Treatment of Nail Diseases; over 200 publications, several textbooks.
