Dr. Priyanka Mathias, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Fleisher Institute for Diabetes and Metabolism in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Mathias is a board-certified Endocrinologist with clinical areas of interest including the Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes in young adults and the use of diabetes technology to improve clinical care. Dr. Mathias also practices in the Supporting Emerging Adults with Diabetes program which provides developmentally tailored and cutting-edge care for young adults age 18-35 years old with type 1 diabetes. Her prior research has focused on hypoglycemic-associated autonomic failure in targeted individuals at risk for hypoglycemia and the role of the central nervous system in glucose regulation. She is currently a co-investigator in the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Quality Improvement Initiative which aims to improve the care of persons with type 1 diabetes in the United States.
