Ponciano (Chito) Cruz is a Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Dermatology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas Texas.  He also serves as Chief of Dermatology at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  Dr. Cruz directs the residency program and co-heads a laboratory team that discovered molecules to be targeted for treatment of melanoma and other solid cancers.
