Philippe Unger is Associate Professor Emeritus of Cardiology, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, and former Head of the Department of Cardiology, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Saint Pierre, Brussels. He is currently consultant in the Cardiology Department of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Saint Pierre, Université Libre de Bruxelles, and in the Cardiology Department of the Universitair Ziekenhuis, Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Brussels, Belgium.

Dr. Unger has received his MD degree and PhD in Cardiology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He is former President of the Working Group of Non Invasive Imaging of the Belgian Society of Cardiology. His research interest include valvular heart disease, where he has authored peer reviewed medical articles related to multiple and mixed heart valve diseases.
