Dr. Peng-Sheng Chen is the Burns & Allen Chair in Cardiology Research and a Staff Cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology, the Smidt Heart Institute, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the National Taiwan University School of Medicine, completed internal medicine training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and cardiology training at Duke University Medical Center. He is ABIM Board Certified for Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Clinical Cardiovascular Electrophysiology. Dr. Chen has published more than 300 peer-reviewed articles. He has contributed to the understanding of the mechanisms of cardiac fibrillation, defibrillation, and the importance of the autonomic nervous system in cardiac arrhythmogenesis.
