
Nisha Acharya MD, MS

Proctor Foundation, San Francisco, CaliforniaNisha Acharya, MD, MS is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology at the University of California San Francisco and Director of the Uveitis Service at the F.I. Proctor Foundation. Dr. Acharya received a BS in Biology and an MS in Health Services Research from Stanford University, followed by an MD from the University of California San Francisco. She did an internship in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and ophthalmology residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She then returned to UCSF for fellowship training in cornea, external disease and uveitis. Following her clinical fellowship, she was a research fellow for one year at Genentech. She then joined the faculty at UCSF. Dr. Acharya’s clinical focus is uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases. She has a referral practice at the F.I. Proctor Foundation focusing on uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases and is director of the uveitis fellowship program. Her research interests include epidemiology of uveitis and clinical trials comparing efficacy of various treatments.
