Dr. Chidi-Egboka earned her first degree as a Doctor of Optometry in 2006 and has practiced as a clinical optometrist and lecturer at the departments of Ophthalmology/Optometry and Vision Science, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Ngozi has completed a Master of Public Health degree (University of Ilorin, Nigeria) and residency training in cornea and contact lenses (Nigeria College of Optometrists). She has a passion for teaching and research, especially in anterior eye and public health optometry. Ngozi is currently in her second year of PhD candidature at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Her research focuses on understanding the ocular surface in healthy children using a mix of novel clinical and technological techniques to investigate environmental effects (e.g. smartphone use) on the ocular surface. Ngozi is a Women in Maths and Science Champion at UNSW Sydney and volunteers in promoting science to school children in regional Australia.
