Naomi G. Dempsey MD
Breast Medical Oncologist, Miami Cancer Institute, Miami, FloridaDr. Naomi Dempsey is a medical oncologist at the Miami Cancer Institute specializing in breast cancer. She is also an affiliate professor of Medicine at the Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Before she joined the Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Dempsey served as a hematologist and breast medical oncologist at the Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton.
After receiving her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Dempsey completed residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of Miami Hospital, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Miami VA Medical Center. She was a post-doctoral breast cancer research fellow at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and she completed clinical fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. She was chief fellow in 2020–2021.
Dr. Dempsey is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society, among other professional organizations, including the Greater Miami Symphonic Band where she plays the flute and has been principal piccolo since October 2016.
