Mohsen Afarideh, MD, MPH, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Autoimmune Skin Diseases Unit, Department of Dermatology, University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA). His current research studies are focused on randomized controlled trials testing the safety and efficacy of novel therapeutics in the management of autoimmune blistering disorders, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, and dermatomyositis using the validated scoring systems. He is the latest recipient of Dr. Smith H. and Lucille Gibson Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Dermatology Award at the Department of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). While at Mayo Clinic, he conducted research on the gaps of knowledge in the epidemiology of various dermatologic conditions among children, adolescents and adults in the United States.
