Mitchell R. Smith MD, PhD
Director Lymphoid Malignancy Program, Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OhioDr. Smith is the Director of the Lymphoid Malignancy Program Service in the Taussig Cancer Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. A graduate of Stanford University, Smith earned his MD and PhD at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He completed his fellowship in medical oncology and biomedical research through the clinical scholars program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. After serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, he joined Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1993, where he remained as Director of the Lymphoma Program until 2012. At that time he moved to his current position at the Cleveland Clinic, where he is also Professor of Medicine in the Lerner Research Institute.
