Dr. Kosiborod is a cardiologist at Saint-Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, and Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Kosiborod received training in clinical research through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program, as well as clinical training in cardiovascular medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Kosiborod is an internationally recognized expert in the field of diabetes management in patients with cardiovascular disease. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on these topics, including scientific statements, and is involved in clinical trials of patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease – both in the leadership role, as well as the investigator at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute through the Lipid and Diabetes Research Center. Dr. Kosiborod is actively involved in the work of multiple committees for the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association, and currently chairs the Diabetes Committee of the American Heart Association.
