Professor of Medicine and Head, Endoscopic Surgery and Tissue Apposition, Division of Gastroenterology, Interventional Endoscopy, University of Colorado-Denver, Aurora, ColoradoDr. Mihir Wagh is a Professor of Medicine and Head of Endoscopic Surgery and Tissue Apposition in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Colorado, Denver, USA. Dr. Wagh trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He then pursued advanced fellowships in Interventional Endoscopy including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and pancreatobiliary endoscopy (ERCP) at the University of Chicago and Indiana University.
Before moving to Colorado, Dr. Wagh was on faculty at the University of Florida as an Interventional Endoscopist where he also served as Director of Endoscopic Research and Education. Dr. Wagh specializes in flexible endoscopic surgery (Third Space Endoscopy [POEM, G-POEM and Z-POEM], endoscopic resection [EMR, ESD] and endoscopic suturing), as well as pancreatobiliary endoscopy (ERCP and EUS), with an emphasis on novel and emerging endoscopy.
Dr. Wagh has written numerous scientific papers, reviews, editorials and book chapters. He has written a book on “Pancreatic masses” and his most recent book “Gastrointestinal Interventional Endoscopy-Advanced Techniques” was just published recently. He has demonstrated interventional endoscopy at multiple national and international live endoscopy courses and conferences. He is the Chair of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Training Committee and serves on the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Educational Affairs Committee.
