Melinda Wang, BA, is a 4th-year medical student at Yale Univestity School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, Ms. Wang worked as a general education math teacher an inner city high school, with the goal of providing equitable education opportunities for her students with which they could use to excel in their future endeavors. Likewise, throughout college and medical school, Ms. Wang has worked with underserved populations and in health justice–related fields. Her research similarly focuses on exploring equity and justice either through a public health, clinical, or basic research lens on both a global (Malaysia) and local scale.

Her current laboratory research, to be completed in the next year, will explore the relationship between estradiol and its potential effects on exacerbating acute pancreatitis in females versus males.
