Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of California; Hospitalist, Division of Hospital Medicine, San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital, San Francisco, CaliforniaDr. Max Goldman is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and enjoys serving a diverse array of veteran patients as a Hospitalist in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Goldman is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where he was an undergraduate at Emory University. He lived in Jorakhe, Thailand for over a year while completing his Fulbright Fellowship before returning back to Emory University for medical school. He served as a categorical internal medicine resident at UCSF from 2018-2021. Dr. Goldman has a strong academic interest in improving care delivery to patients both through his work in quality improvement and his clinical outcomes research. His research has focused on methods of detecting advancing hepatic fibrosis in high-risk patients, in order to stave off progression to cirrhosis, and investigating factors affecting survival and recurrence in hepatocellular carcinoma. In his free time, Dr. Goldman enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, kayaking, and travel.
