Matthew T. Ballo MD

Chairman and Professor of Radiation Oncology, University of Tennessee; Medical Director of Radiation Oncology, West Clinic, Memphis, Tennessee

Dr. Ballo is the Chairman and Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Tennessee and Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the West Clinic.  He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and medical training at MD Anderson Cancer Center.  In 2006 he became the Medical Director of the MD Anderson Department of Radiation Oncology outreach program where he focused on physician professional development, education, and clinical quality assurance.  He came to the University of Tennessee in 2013 to assist in the creation of the UT West Cancer Center.  He has collaborated with both academic and community-based physicians and has clinical experience with multiple radiation modalities.  He has published over 65 peer-reviewed articles and has expertise in the use of radiation for patients with breast cancer, melanoma and sarcoma.
