Mary Savoye MS, RD, CDE

Mary Savoye has been a registered dietitian at Yale University for 25 years. Her areas of specialty are obesity and type 2 diabetes. Mary developed a family-based pediatric weight management program at Yale that has become one of the few evidence-based programs in the United States. Her research on pediatric obesity treatment and the prevention of type 2 diabetes has been published in several journals including the Journal of the American Medical Association, Diabetes Care, and Pediatrics. Mary has published a weight management curriculum, Smart Moves, which is used internationally, and a book entitled the 1 Thing “Diet,” that emphasizes a realistic, non-diet approach to weight loss. Mary has a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition to her full-time capacity as research and clinical dietitian at Yale University, she has her own practice in Branford, Connecticut.
