Mark Russo, MD, MPH, is Medical Director of Liver Transplantation, Chief, Division of Hepatology, and Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Charlotte, North Carolina. He serves as program director for the transplant hepatology fellowship. He is an Associate Editor for Gastroenterology and serves on the editorial board for Liver Transplantation, Expert Reviews in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Journal of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Russo has been an invited lecturer to the AGA, ACG, AASLD national meetings as well as the AASLD Transplant Hepatology board review course and William M Steinberg Board Review and Best Practices course. He led the effort of the AASLD workforce committee to determine the demand for future hepatology care in the United States. He has been the PI on dozens of clinical trials in hepatitis C, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and liver transplantation.
