Dr. Zupa is an endocrinologist and health services researcher focused on using of technology, including virtual video visits, e-consults, and predictive modeling, to improve the care of patients with type 2 diabetes who are at high risk for complications. In her current work, she uses mixed methods to assess patient and provider perspectives of diabetes telemedicine and utilizes quantitative analyses of real-world electronic medical record data to examine clinical outcomes. Dr. Zupa is also interested in family supporter involvement in diabetes care for adults with type 2 diabetes, approaches to optimize diabetes self-management education and support for high-risk adults, and medication cost and healthcare utilization for adults with diabetes.
