Lynne L. Levitsky, M.D. is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and the Yale University School of Medicine.  From 1986 to 1990, she initiated and organized the Chicago Children’s Diabetes Center, an education and clinical care arm of the Chicago Diabetes Research and Training Center at the University of Chicago.  From 1990-2015, she  served as Chief of the Pediatric Endocrine Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital and she is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.  She is a past president of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and was the first director of the Education Task force of that society.  She is editor of the growth and development section of Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Obesity. She is a co-PI of the TODAY study (Treatment Options for Children and Adolescents with Type 2 diabetes) and its follow-up.
